Oko Mi means my husband in a Nigerian Language. I am madly in love with my Iyawo Re (My Wife) Alexia!! We have yet to be united due to her need of funds in the amount of $2,100 to be able to take care of her personal matters and come home to her Prince and Oko Mi (Me). I have helped Alexia reach one goal pertaining to her personal matters but only one hurdle remains $2,100 before she will be able to come home to me. We are willing and will be able to repay any donation given to help us realize our love of each other by finally being united. My love for Alexia is only second to God and she is my one and only true love .
I am still looking for that one Mr. OR Mrs. that will be Santa for my kids & I this Christmas :( someone that has a big heart and is willing/able to help me give my kiddos a good Christmas. Had the little ones sing jingle bells and make christmas can cards for the elders at my aunts nursing home. Watching the old people smile like kids again made my great melt. So fun!
My advice would be to meet the family, discuss the problems they're having. This situation goes both ways, however. People who are hard up are more easily taken in by scammers using too good to be true offers simply because they need to cut corners and save a buck.
Advice on helping people without getting scammed? It seems that there is such need out there. How do you determine who really needs the help? I'm hoping to offer a handUP not a handOUT.

Our mission will be to help individuals and families with small monetary gifts to assit in paying bills, buying groceries, etc. The gifts will normally be in the form of a gift card.

Thank you for your kind-hearted post!Please refer to the attached link.A few months ago, I made every effort possible to help this Aidpage member find alternative transportation to and from his Doctor’s appointments besides the Veterans bus.Using this form of transportation takes about 3 to 4 hours roundtrip for each Doctor’s visit.He has endured multiple skin grafts, which has made his skin highly sensitive.Being in a sitting position for long periods of time causes damage to his skin.Unfortunately, I was unable to get find him the help he needs.Perhaps you can contact him directly in a one-to-one message to let him know about it.
I too have a passion for horses. I have started a non profit and became exempt in 2007. I would be glad to offer some advice. I did not use an attorney to become a non profit. You are capable of doing that on your own and saving that expense. We have just had our first rodeo in our arena. We are located in Tennessee. Look up the West Tennessee Expo Center some time. It 's not much now but we have great hopes. Our plan is to complete the project by adding an indoor riding arena too. Hope this helps.
Hi I've just about tried everything I know about so that's why I am now on here. We need help we live in Hawaii. And yes everyone from the mainland is usually like oh your in paradise. Yes and no. It's beautiful but when you have been born and raised here and have leaved always below poverty most of your childhood and now doing the same with your own children, the palm trees slowly disappear, and the colors in the sunset aren't so bright anymore. The cost of living over here is thee craziest. I keep hearing everyone talking about how expensive a gallon of gas is in the mainland, we are almost at 5.00 a gallon of REGULAR. And it has not been at 3. In over a year. For rent I paid 1250.00 for a two bedroom apt. And I thought that was a good deal. I soon moved with my father after that and together we payed 1475.00 for a 3 bedroom house and that was a steal. Will I guess what I'm trying to say is any kind of help anyone out there can help me with will be very very much appreciated. Just to tell everyone a little about my family, Im 27 year old single mother of 3 beautiful girls. I once had a great and perfect all American but in a Hawaiian kind of twist family. I had great credit a great husband, great kids, a great house that we where buying, great cars. Of course my husband left me and my kids for someone else, he was the provider so I lost my home to fore closer and my car got repo I basically lost everything but my children. Along with him leaving me I was also became a victim of violence from him I think because he new he had done wrong and really screwed up he took it out on me. I have been looking for a decent paying job for along time. I'm starting to think that theres no other way but to go about this the wrong way, and I really dont want to think like that. Let me give you some background. I'm a female-to-male transgender (i was diagnosed with GID, which is known as Gender Identity Disorder) and i'm also a fulltime inline study (my major is Criminal Investigations). I suffer from anxiety, depression, and social issues. I cant the surgery that it takes too make me normal. I mean, I cant even afford the Testostone shots that i should have been on a few years back. I want this more than anything i have ever wanted in my entire life, and its no like i go around asking people for money. Thats not what this is about. Please dont get the wrong idea. I'm asking for help right now because it seems to be my only way to live a decent life. I want to get married and be normal. I dont want to walk around as a freak the rest of my life. I have had friend turn on me in a heart beat and it made me wonder. I use to ride in a bike club, you figure that it would happe more in that situation. Wrong , it's you good ol american christian, baptist, catholic whoever.Church going is the word I'm looking for.
You could do this, to get there attention . Write up a bill for the cost and mention all the things you haven't charged them for and have it notorized.Present it to them in person , with a smile. If that doesn't work then they aren't friends, it my have slipped their minds, then either take them to civil court"judge Judy, joe Brown, or one of them and of course you have regular civil court, or drop it and let it be a sad lesson as to the stupidity of man.
You might pay more attention to susies son he has a gentler and kinder nature than what I do.
in response to Jake111...I think the best thing you can do in this situation is let it go. I know that is hard to do because emotions are involved and feeling have been abused, but probably the only person affected by their actions are you. It's sad to imagine, but there are people out there that don't care how their actions affect others. There are people who use a friendship like a door mat and just move on once they have wiped their feet on you. More then likely they have treated others the way they treated you, and their behavior will continue throughout their lives unless they allow the Lord to change them.
You are not helping yourself at all by allowing them to get the best of you. They have already taken your money without the intention of ever repaying it back, don't allow them to cause you to become bitter. You are a giving person and God will reward your kindness in other ways, and maybe through other people.
Ask the Lord to help you and guide you. He will take care of you, and He is aware of the kindness you have extended. I will be praying that the Lord helps you work through the pain and meets your needs financially.
Don't change who you are because of how other behave.

in response to johannagiles...To joannejiles... You are right on all accounts except that I do surround myself with good people...in a sence...I try to see the good in everyone and. I sometimes ignore the other stuff. Everyone has problems and some more than others but sometimes they just need someone to listen and lend a hand. Like I said in another post...I just wish it was easier to let them know that not all people are bad so I help them when I can and hope that they realize that some people are good and no matter the problem it will get better so they don't need to treat people badly and be perceived as a bad person. I've noticed that a lot of them do that so they don't get hurt first . Most "bad" people have their reasons and I just like to prove that life is not all bad ,no matter what they have been through.

That is the type of response I was hoping for...sincere...not like the others I keep getting in my mailbox pretty much telling me that I'm an idiot or full of it...they are just proving what I already think...people in general are just as happy insulting and condemning others as they are thinking that they are smarter and better than everyone else when they really just can't face the fact that they are just human and vulnerable to problems just like everyone else. I didn't ask them for help and I have other friends...I was just saying I helped some people and I got screwed. I misspoke when I didn't expect anything in return... I did trust that the money that I loaned that was agreed to be paid back would be... It wasn't and it put me in a bad spot. I did not expect anything for the six months of letting them have a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs. Taking them to do things so they wouldn't sit around getting depressed over their problems and I didn't expect anything for getting them each jobs once they were back on their feet I was happy for them and still let them stay so they could save money for their own place and gave them my older truck to get around in for free. All I had them agree to was PAY ME BACK THE CASH FOR TAG AND TITLE AND INSURANCE . It was agreed but never happened. They are doing well now and I am still happy for them but upset at the same time. I never saw that coming and still don't know why it happened ... They talk to other people I know and have no bad things to say about me . I took them at their word. And accept that it is my mistake but if you read my original post you will see that I was curious and wondering if others have gone through a similar situation... I was not trying to have someone offer an arguement on something other than the main point of the post. I really didn't want to type the whole story... And I still didn't ... But I am still curious if anyone had been through something similar and if so should I do something other than learn from my mistake. P.S. THEY DIDN'T ASK ME FOR THE INITIAL HELP, I JUST GAVE IT TO THEM, BUT IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE THEY ASKED FOR OTHER THINGS ALL OF THE TIME AND WOULD TREAT ME HORRIBLY IF I HAD TO SAY NO. Of course, since I married I can depend on my husband.
But, before that it was only me & G-d.
Humans will disappoint you every time.
Then again, maybe its meant to be that way. For G-d tells us to put not our trust in man, but trust in Him only.
Yet,it still hurts when people we help don't seem to give a hoot about us.
I learned that before 'I can love my neighbor as myself' that I have to learn to 'love myself'. And, if I love myself then I need to take care of myself too.
I beg to differ. It sounds as if you did expect it in return. If you didn't expect it . That's what you got. No problem.
Most people will and do take advantage of a situation. You either keep giving out of the goodness of your heart and figure how to get out of these places where you get your butt bit. One way is by saying NO or I don't have it to spare.

I heard someehere prpbably in amovie that no good deed goes unpunished. I have done alot to help others too but maybe not as mcuch asyou. To make a long story short people take advantage and if you believe in God at all he will reward you. your time will come and hopelfully find better people to be around.
Have you ever ended up in a bad spot from helping people too much, so much that you hurt yourself by doing so? I have a problem. I don't know if I am just ignorant or just a glutten for punishment. I keep helping people and it keeps biting me in the ... . I find myself in a place in my life needing help but those that I have helped are nowhere to be found. I did not help them expecting anything in return but I thought I had friends at least. Nope.
Even the best websites are ignored without major advertising.. try not to take it personally... like the old saying goes: it takes money to make money.
However, all hope is not lost. we are here and there is a lot of help available to you and your mom.
First of all stop beating yourself up over the past - we have all made mistakes. You were young and vulnerable at the time. You are older and wiser now. I kow its probably not something you want to hear, but you might want to consider talking to a counselor that specializes in PTSD - post traumatic stress disorder. It won't hurt to talk and they may be able to help get you medication to alleviate the anxiety and depression.
As for a job, I can only imagine how hard that can be with your incarceration. However, Goodwill may be able to help. They specialize in assisting people in your position to obtain employment.
Your mom might be able to receive assistance as well... Check with benefits.gov Both you and she may be entitled to assistance with food, utilties, rent, medical assistance and other things...
I know its hard just trying to get by. But when I read your story, I see a man with a heart of gold. You are intelligent, resourceful, and a decent, kindhearted man. Don't let your past keep you from achieving your greatest potential. Your mom must be proud to have you as her son.

in response to Angels Over All...Sunny got kidney failure wrong diagnosis in first of June. Really crashed got him to vet did good for two months and not eat again back to vet got him home but creatine levels this time 13 then he didn't last long so 9/22 tearing had him put to sleep. He wasn't eating and had a kidney stone. Got back from vet 9/21 and hid so knew this was the end. I couldn't let him suffer and it took us from 6-1030 to get him from out from under the bed. He is in a better place free from suffering but mom misses him. When the time is right another cat or pet will come into my life. Sunny was one of a kind really a character and goofy. He really loved people and show off.

If you have been harrassed/abused at work and are about to be fired because of your sexuality, you must know that you are protected by law. Either your opwn personal attorney can assist you or you can seek assistance with the EEOC or ACLU
FAFSA can assist with financial aid and student loans for school. Also check with student services and the financial aid office on campus. You might want to check with fastweb for additional scholarship information.Â
Without a job, more likely than not, you will need a co-signer, UNLESS you go to a "buy here/pay here" shop. You will most likely pay more , but you may not need a cosigner. ONE THING I DO WANT TO STRESS HERE- have a mechanic you trust, inspect the car completely BEFORE you sign!!! If you do not know one, you can have carchex do it for you. It is a @ $120, but they will go to the car and thoroughly inspect it for you. While I know its a lot of money upfront, the fact of the matter is, if you buy used, you want to make sure of what you are getting. You certainly do not want to sign for your car, drive it off the lot and have your engine die on you. Know what you are buying!
